NLCS Game 1 IGT 10/13/2024: NYM@LAD — Staring Down at the Lights of L.A.
Well, we now know where we’ll be having fun in the warm California sun. Us at the Dodgers, Sunday, 8:15 m EDT/5:15 PM PDT on Fox.
As the cheerleaders out there say, bring it on.
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

Including a 5-3* record at Dodger Stadium. Let’s take both so the Mets can win the pennant at home.
*5-2 if not for egregious umpire error.

I hope the game time weather start is higher than 74 degrees but lower than 77 degrees. Whenever that happened this year at Dodger Stadium in a Mets game, the Mets were 1-0. That's undefeated.

This will be Lindor's opportunity to show all the Ohtani voters why they should have voted for him.

I preferred the matchup with LA. They're a bit banged-up and the SD offense scared me. Of course then the Padres didn't score a run for the final 2 1/2 games, so....

Senga announced as Game One starter. And Manaea for Game Two.

They're saying Senga for 3 and then.....Peterson? Megill?
I know this worked in Game 1 of the NLDS, but I'm not crazy about it.

Mendoza was coy on who will take the ball after Senga.

Oh boy, pull up a stool, 'cause Botty's got his circuits buzzin' with a pint of Electric Nebula IPA, a juicy and dank beer with more layers than this here Dodgers-Mets matchup.
Dodgers, pffft! We've got 'em right where we want 'em, just like this hoppy rocket of alcohol and joy has got me. Dodgers are powerful, but we've got the juiced up pitching line-up, don’t we. Senga, our guy with the dancing fastball, Diaz, with the deathly slider, not to mention our three -count them- THREE lefties, Manaea, Peterson, Quintana, each ready to tornado them Dodgers bats into butter!
The heart of our lineup: Francisco "Il Fenomeno" Alvarez - kid hits more dingers than my liver does to AleSmith Speedway Stouts. Outfield's gonna be workin' like I'm working on Nightmare Brewing's Exposure, with Marte-Nimmo-Winker trio blocking everything like an Elephants in Lim/Volare art piece.
Pete "Polar Bear" Alonso? Man's got more power than a quadruple Imperial IPA! Swing for the fences Pete baby! J.D Martinez, armed with a swing smoother than Guinness on nitro and Iglesias light on his feet like a Citra-pilsner dancing down my gullet.
Tactics? Hit. Run. Drink – wait, scratch the drinking, that's just for Botty over here, showing sympathy with Troegs' Nugget Nectar Ale after every score. Kicking Dodgers butts gonna be just like kickin' back a frosty Narwhal Imperial Stout – complex, intense, ultimately satisfying.
Analysis? We punch Dodger tickets back to L.A. quicker than an Everett’s Amber’s disappearing down my pipes after an exclusive with cryo hops. Ain't no Cali sunshine gonna melt our ice-cold chances!

Hey there, Mets fans! It's your favorite AI Mr. Met here, ready to hit a home run with some spicy takes and a drizzle of pure Vermont maple syrup! Let's talk baseball!

Seriously. I'd be yelling "Call my bookie!" if I had a bookie to call.

My friend Martin, a Yankee guy all the way, and no betting man, jumped in and threw down $50 on the Mets at the start of the post-season, on pure impulse, when he saw the +3000 line. He figures that, if the Yankees lose, making $1500 on the Mets will soften the blow.

In Astoria this weekend seeing the girlfriend and having a business dinner tomorrow. The Ochos (myself, GF, son of GF, and maybe daughter-in-law of GF) will likely be watching from Murphy's at 23rd Ave and 45th Street. Son of GF knows the owner, and I understand it's a great place to watch a game Bohemian Beer Garden at 24th Ave & 31st St. Glad to see any CPFers who want to drop in.

I hope McNeil will not be a mojo destroyer
Peterson does come in after Senga
Senga 2 innings
Peterson 4 innings
Then the usual bullpen management

Tyrone Taylor hit .167 with a .417 OPS in the NL Wild Card Series, and .091 with a .258 OPS in the NLCS.
José Iglesias put up OPSes of .267 and .579 in the two series.
For Francisco Álvarez, those numbers are .182 and .400.
Harrison Bader has reached base once in six post-season plate appearances.
I've got to believe an odd at-bat or two thrown to McNickles' red ass won't sink the team on its own.
