If there is any silver lining here maybe it’s that Stearns and Cohen have seen how far the Mets are from being the team to beat.

I’m not sure they win this series but I do think they have fight in them to send it back to LA, and I’ll take that small victory. And I do agree this is a stark reminder that the Mets are not as good as they have seemed at times.

I can report that it was indeed cold and late at Citi Field tonight. Also rather futile. Still, I feel lucky to have experienced 2024 Mets postseason baseball up close. Never saw it coming five months ago.

Let's at the very least inconvenience L.A. and make them play a little longer.
