I saw that 56% of women support Harris, and 51% of men support Trump. (Not the first time I've been embarrassed for my gender.)

I don't know if these numbers are accurate, of course, but if they are, and if the trend of more women than men voting continues, that might be a good sign.

Or not. I'm no longer capable of being optimistic, but I remain capable of being hopeful.

I am capable of being optimistic. Drives my wife crazy, as she's in full panic mode.

I feel that there's a Harris vote that's not showing up in the polls. It's okay, because people got complacent when Hillary was running in 2016. There's no complacency here.

It’s the betting odds that are bothering me.

I’ve read a few places that some large bets by one guy skewed them. But nothing definitive.

I'm trying to work from that place, too.

We voted that guy out during a pandemic lockdown. Motivation is a good thing.

There will also be no getting near the Capitol for the certification. Civilian defenders will want to encircle it, only to find out the National Guard has ringed it first.

I'm also pretty certain that the Democratic Party put as much strategy over the last four years planning to defend a victory in court as they did in winning at the ballot box.

They have literally ten times the number of lawyers Biden had in 2020. They also have Mark Elias, who is the Shohei Ohtani of election lawyers. They're ready for any bullshit, and have already won a lot of cases even before voting started.

I continue to put my faith in a system that's lasted 250 years being more resilient and capable than the orange fucking huckster who had a cameo in "Home Alone 2."

But I have been doomscrolling, a LOT this week.

One week to go.

Kamala is going to win all fifty states. A total shitstorm
will then ensue. And the shitstorm has laid a lot of eggs
that have yet to hatch. And once they all crack shell, the
shitstorm will be the mother of all shitstorms.

I wish I could just black it all out for seven days. It's hard.

I have to say, as a political junkie I revel in all of it. This is like having a one-run lead in the ninth with two out, and the other team has the bases loaded. Stressful, yes, but if you close it out it's really sweet.

And yes, I know I'm unusual. Like I say, I drive the missus crazy. But I think there'll be some movement in the next few days and it won't be in Trump's direction. He's literally out there saying "I'm not a Nazi" today. That's generally not a place you want to be 7 days before an election.

Jesus fucking Christ. You’d think if the government could control the goddamned weather it might maybe have rained in New Jersey in the past fucking month.

Or, like, instead of trying to buy up land in the Carolina’s, maybe we’d point some rain over the red state farmlands and then tell ‘el that the democrats did it to ease their droughts and grow their crops.

Or, well, if the Jews really did have space lasers, maybe they’d use em against fucking Iran and draw a dick on the ayatollahs front yard.

Hey! That's a great idea! But now I'll have to re-program my laser to aim it there.

why can't they just build him a replica Oval Office on one of his shitty golf courses and let him "fire" people and order "generals" around and let him make phone calls to "Putin" so we can be done with him forever???

Yeah. I know. The Democrats are controlling the weather to screw Republicans and Conservatives. What else is there to say at this point? What else?

There's a lot of leaps you have to take to get to that woman's place.

1) you have to be able to control the weather.

2) you have to be able to control it over thousands of miles, creating a hurricane and aiming it in a very specific location in the mountains of western North Carolina.

3) you have to make it rain enough in that specific area to cause massive flooding and chase all the people out. (Leaving Democratic areas untouched)

4) you then have to declare eminent domain over areas that have lithium under them, which of course is still speculative.

5) you have to swear hundreds of thousands of scientists, meteorologists, corporations and government officials to absolute secrecy.

6) or you can be a brainless Q-conspiracy addled Trump supporter. I hope the attendants finally track her down and give her her meds.

My guess is SI: in 2016 no county in NY State went harder for Trump than Richmond County, and in the most recent mayoral election 2/3 of SI residents voted for Curtis Sliwa. It's a whole nother world out there.

Absolutely. The media will go to great lengths to 'bothsides' this. Kamala must be furious, and probably wants to lock Joe in the onion cellar for the next week.

Same in South Jersey, Ocean county

I'm not convinced Harris wins NJ, it's a longshot but.....
