I really only use Twitter as a quick way to get covers from the TCD. And if somebody posts a link to something interesting. I'm really not a "user" of X and wouldn't know what to do if I was.

I haven't seen a hateful thing in a while. I popped over to Twitter briefly and, especially in replies, every other tweet feels like it's some hateful lie. You got an example?

I'm struggling to figure out how to post the image. But one of the first things in the feed was a guy posting "Just posted this from the shitter" with a line of blue hearts and a photo of a building with "Fuck Musk" projected on the side. Then a bunch of soccer posts, then the same political stuff that's everywhere else.

If people what that kind of content and enjoy it, more power to them. Just not what I was hoping for.

No one gets anywhere by being nice to nazis, so leaving that aside. It's social media, you look at it from a 100' view, you're just getting 'stuff'. It's like walking into a mall and thinking "Oh, this is just a place for candy kiosks and some jewelry? not for me." You find the subset of interests and follow those people, and mostly your feed is your interests and those people, though of course general life stuff is going to filter through.

Yeah for Mets content there just ain't that much.

Having said that, I have fully dumped "X" now - I would occasionally look at it on my phone or tablet as my brother still uses it and really nothing else, and for a few other folks I know. But recently, when looking at my tablet and not even having Twitter open, I see a notification pop up from the former President insulting me or people who vote like me. And I thought, you know what, fuck that guy and fuck any app on which he appears.

Boring and homogenized toward the left. The worst thing for me about the Twitter exodus is that so many different groups went different places and are unorganized. Not only did Elon turn Twitter into a propaganda machine, but he also weakened the shared space that provided a forum for many groups to come together. Now, these groups will fall into deeper echo chambers than before.

I'm still primarily on Twitter. But much more selective about who's saying what and why. It's a cesspool.

Agree 💯, I still have Twitter, but used a 3rd party app to delete over 27k tweets , deleted my profile pic and info , Bluesky is just " hey look how nice it is here '

I use twitter for breaking sports news. And for that use, BlueSky is dragging behind. But I try to visit once a day, and like some posts etc. I want to see it succeed.

I get that there is a danger in falling further into echo chambers, but X is basically a right-wing propaganda machine. I want to see it fail. In fact, I think we need it to fail.

I hope that there will be a new form of social media where we all convene again, but I don't want it to be on X.

I've had no problem with breaking sports news on bluesky. Found out instantly.

Plus you can actually look at replies to tweets there, actual like, discussion happens. Hasn't happened on twitter since they started charging for your replies to appear at the top.

I like BlueSky. I never really used Twitter that much and had basically stopped going there except for links someone outside had posted, because it's a shitshow now.

Most of the people I'm interested in are on BlueSky now. There are the occasional trolls but they're easy to block. I'm sure that there'll be more coming. I'm not a poster there, merely a lurker.

As more people come over, the breaking news, sports and analysis is getting better. And anything that hurts/annoys Elon is by its very nature a good thing.
