Uncharted waters.
You'd think that this is a line that even the supplicant backboneless GOP wouldn't cross (giving the madman-elect his Cabinet full of recess appointments). But I've learned, grudgingly, never to underestimate the madman. And maybe this is the kind of shit that has to happen for the Dems to take back the Senate in two years.

"Reports also state that the the president is planning to bypass FBI background checks for at least some of the cabinet members. According to CNN, Trump and his allies believe the FBI system is slow and plagued with issues that could stymie the president-elect’s plan to quickly begin the work of implementing his agenda, people briefed on the plans said. Critics say the intrusive background checks sometimes turn up embarrassing information used to inflict political damage."

That's, of course, a big part of the purpose of background checks. If there is information lingering about that is embarrassing or could inflict political damage, that is something that could be used by enemies to compromise executive officials.

I know. There's a new horror story every 25 minutes. This is the madman unchecked, with virtual criminal immunity and not having to give a shit about winning voters over four years from now. And at the end of the day, FOX will blame it all on Biden and the madman's followers will believe it. Of course they will.

Vivek Ramaswamy said that he wants to cut "non-funded" programs. One of those is Veteran's medical benefits.
The proposed Secretary of defense is against women in the military and believes they shouldn't be in combat, despite the fact that they have proven themselves in several wars.
This would substantially weaken our military.
They also want to cut the law agencies that keep us safe -CIA,FBI and Justice Departments.
The people who serve have a sense of honor and duty and allegiance to the constitution.
I predict some kind of intervention if not an outright coup at some point if this stuff isn't stopped.

If he follows through on his most dangerous and cruelest impulses, I'm expecting the most drastic kind of "intervention ". Use your imagination.

Looks like the military is policing themselves.
Hegseth, the nominee for Sec. of defense, was flagged as an "insider threat" because of a while supremacist tattoo.

So, he's a misogynist AND a racist. Fits right in.

He just named Dr. Emmet Oz to run Medicare and Medicaid.
On the spectrum of a little nuts to batshit crazy, Oz is standing next to RFK Jr. at the right hashmark.
And I'll be dead.

Yeah? What would they do differently? Manipulate evidence to keep or get us into wars? Ignore science and health especially as it pertained to the gay community? Restrict our freedoms in favor of surveillance and government control? Sow distrust about or outright attack our Muslim citizenry? Overstate the danger of various drug issues and disproportionately punish and jail minority communities through enforcement of it? Appoint unsavory or unqualified people to the courts? Attack and restrict voter rights?

Maybe Eisenhower was alright, but since then it's been pretty consistently evil.

Please don't go asking a question and then firing off answers trying to stick one on me. It's no way to be.

My wife just said that half of the nominees shouldn't even be allowed on a Disney Cruise.

I'm waiting for him to name Hannibal Lechter as Surgeon General.
There won't be any waste.
