The fourth and final record by VU, at least as far as having the original lineup still intact.
Maybe it was the idea that the record was aimed at snaring radio play — so they ‘Loaded’ it with hits just like the record execs wanted — which spurred Lou Reed to leave band months
before the album was even released and to complain later on that some of his songs were cut and re-mixed without his consent. Others apparently disagree with his view of things.

STEPHEN STILLS - STEPHEN STILLS, Released November 16, 1970

It doesn’t speak well for your still-new ‘Supergroup’ when most of the group is releasing solo albums after just two group efforts. But Stills wound up living in England during
much of 1970 in large part to get away from CSNY-induced strife. Not that he still didn’t have friends in the music business as appearances on the album include:
Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Booker T. Jones, Ringo Starr, Rita Coolidge, Cass Elliot, and Graham Nash among others.

I like "Black Queen" best from that record, though better yet is this live version that was released as an outtake on the 1992 re-release of the 1971 live CSNY album "4 Way Street."

CAT STEVENS —TEA FOR THE TILLERMAN, Released November 23, 01970

The fourth studio album for Cat as well as his second of 1970, one which contains several songs which wound up on the ‘Greatest Hits album from which I got my introduction to Stevens a few years later.
This one was discussed briefly in the first page of this thread but can certainly be revisited, and, why not, as Yusef Cat Stevens (his nom de this week anyway) is revisiting it himself.
Back in September he didn't just re-release it but released a completely re-recorded version with the original 11 tracks “reimagined for a new age with dramatic results”.

I may have pontificated on "All Things Must Pass" before - George has long been my favorite Beatle, not just because I was born 30 years to the day after he was, but because of his fine slide guitar work and this momentous album, which has so many fantastic songs on it. I still look forward to the day that they released a de-Spectored, pared down but still engineered properly version of it.

They just did release a taste, an updated version of the title track, which sounds really great. And I'm hopeful for more of this kind of stuff:



My favorites from this album are still "Isn't It a Pity" and "Beware of Darkness," though there are several others I really love as well.
