Good guess, in that he is a lefthanded reliever, but he's five years older than Nate.

Bad guess, in that he is a lefthanded reliever.

Nu page, so let us repeat the challenging question.

When Daniel signed with The Nationals, The Mets were granted a compensation pick in the following amateur draft. Who did they take with that pick?

I just realize nobody correctly answered this exciting question.

Once more!! When Daniel signed with The Nationals, The Mets were granted a compensation pick in the following amateur draft. Who did they take with that pick?

Good guess, but Josh Walker is not the Met we're looking for. Josh came to the Mets as a 37th-round(!!) pick out of The University of New Haven in the 2017 draft.

Hey, let's revisit this unvisited question! When Daniel signed with The Nationals, The Mets were granted a compensation pick in the following amateur draft. Who did they take with that pick?

Please remember, in the interim since this question first appeared, we have uncovered that the player (a) is a relief pitcher, (b) is a lefthander, and (c) debuted with the Mets in 2023.

ANTHONY KAY!!!

Sweet gods of free agency compensation, it's Anthony Kay!

In the Long Islandiest trade in history, Ward-Melville High School's Anthony Kay was sent by the Mets at the 2018 trade deadline (along with Simeon Woods Richardson) to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for Patchogue-Medford High School's Marcus Stroman.

I knew he was a high pick in a year where we had several high picks
