Got that one right away. One of my all-time favorite Mets, too. And also another favorite Met, one that I was too young to see play on the Mets.

Well, since you're avoiding this thread: Steve Henderson and Tommy Davis. Davey Lopes, too. Jimmy

I was the same way. Got eight very easily, but couldn't get the Astro/Cub. I ended up making a wrong guess. When I then peeked at the answers, nobody jumped out at me as someone I should have thought of.

Cardinals/Angels: Albert Pujols 47%
Cardinals/Cubs: Jason Heyward 16%
Cardinals/World Champ: Keith Hernandez 1%
Astros/Angels: Nolan Ryan 45%
Astros/Cubs: --
Astros/World Champ: Justin Verlander 7%
300 Saves/Angels: Francisco Rodriguez 43%
300 Saves/Cubs: Bruce Sutter 9%
300 Saves/World Champ: Rollie Fingers 3%

Just thought of Dave Magadan, too. Can't believe I didn't think of him sooner.

Yet another eight for me. The Rangers have had only three 20-game winners, and Nolan Ryan wasn't one of them.

Got my sixth today, with a Rarity Score of 99:

⚾️ Immaculate Grid 129 9/9:
Rarity: 99
IMMACULATE!
🟩🟩🟩
🟩🟩🟩
🟩🟩🟩

Yankees/Pirates: Willie Randolph 0.9%
Yankees/Giants: Darryl Strawberry 1%
Yankees/Rookie of the Year: Thurman Munson 3%
Twins/Pirates: Wally Backman 0.2%
Twins/Giants: Steve Carlton 1%
Twins/Rookie: Rod Carew 42%
Gold Glove/Pirates: Roberto Clemente 33%
Gold Glove/Giants: Willie Mays 16%
Gold Glove/Rookie: Johnny Bench 1%

I think I use Willie Mays more than any other player, by a wide margin.

I had my heart in my mouth as I submitted Munson and Carew; I didn't know for sure that either of them was a ROY.

And as for Bench, I don't know if he won a Gold Glove in his rookie year, or if it matters.

I was trying to get cute with an "all mets" grid and made the same mistake with Ryan yesterday.

Seven out of nine. Totally stumped on the two misses. Not even a wild guess or two. Post '69 expansion teams are my achilles' heel in this game.

If I answered Felipe Alou for Giants/Braves, I woulda had a father/son combo in my solution.

Same here regarding the new expansion teams, I'm shocked that I even got 6 today.

I actually got eight, which is about six above my norm.
My goof was in thinking that the Alex Gonzalez who played for the Cubs was the same Alex Gonzalez who played for the Marlins.

My problem with this game, aside from age related dementia, is that I have no patience for it. I remembered the Cubs Alex Gonzalez because he made a crucial error in the Bartman inning. If I had just thought that inning through for three more seconds then Moises Alou would have come to mind and he was a known Cub/Marlin as opposed to the A.G. coin flip guess.

Was kind of proud, though, of my Mat Latos CIN/MIA pick. I remembered him cuz he was an asshole who annoyed the fuck out of me.

If I played today's game two weeks earlier, I would've only gotten five out of nine instead of seven. I got Fernando Rodney because I started to memorize his teams specifically for IG -- he played for more than ten teams and three of the 1990s expansion teams. And I got Swarzak only because I posted the Braves card thread a day or two ago and when I updated that thread for recent players, noticed that Swarzak played for the Braves.

That's my other limitation with IG: I never collected baseball cards or baseball magazines, and I don't play fantasy.
