What's in Store for Twenty-Four?: Kodai Senga
Forgotten, but not gone, I'm now the star pitcher in the New York Mets rotation, providing I can get back into the New York Mets rotation.
Who comes from the Pacific rim with a mystery pitch and a ton of hype, and actually lives up to his billing? I think I did, and if something hasn't happened to permanently debilitate me, I can do it again. But since I'm having a injuryish spring, you just know they're gonna kid glove me, pitch me on a bunch of rest, pull me after 82 pitches, and basically curtail my innings to something outrageously limited.
But I can't control what sky my star hangs in. I can only control how brightly it shines, and since you're living under that sky and looking up, perhaps you want to let me know what you see.

He'll be back by May 15. 10-8, 3.60 ERA. 120 innings.

I wish I had this much optimism but sadly I've been a Mets fan long enough to assume worse (not that BG hasn't but still)Benjamin Grimm wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 8:36 am He'll be back by May 15. 10-8, 3.60 ERA. 120 innings.

I'm not far off from BG. I fear a little regression, what with a tender arm and the fact that he slightly outpitched his peripherals last year. May I please be wrong like I am about most things.
9-6, 126 IP, 140 K, 3.89 ERA.

I worry he performed a little over his head last year and was due for a letdown anyway. But getting hurt in spring training is an invitation to a shitty year, seen it way too often. Sorry Kodai. Prove me wrong. Just don't go 4-9, 4.57 in 19 appearances between dl stints.

I agree with 10-8, but with an ERA of 3.14 in 24 starts.Benjamin Grimm wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 8:36 am He'll be back by May 15. 10-8, 3.60 ERA. 120 innings.
I think the offense and bullpen are going to leave some wins on the table for him.

I'm going to go with a 3.65 ERA in 150 IP, and a 10-8 record.
Re: What's in Store for Twenty-Four?: Kodai Senga
6-10, 5.24 ERA.
