Re: Justin Verlander (& Kate Upton)!!!

Yeah, I like Verlander. But still should've kept deGrom (too!) But at least this helps the "top-flight talent to have in short series in 2023" problem that was one of the biggest issues with losing deGrom. I figure they're probably got MeGill and/or Peterson slotted into a 5th spot, you'd ...

Re: Better Call Saul

it was fine. I think the same as I thought of Breaking Bad tbh. Well run shows, well made episodes, but some of the overarching plots weren't great, or downright boring. This is especially true of Saul, as you know what's going to happen, who doesn't die, etc. I also found the second half of the las...

Re: The Scent of Musk (split from Off the Cuff and Whatnot - 2022)

for me the benefits and flow of information far outweighed some of the drawbacks, especially since those things exist literally everywhere else too. It does seem like many have already left, making it less beneficial though, which is bound to happen when a supremely stupid pedophile billionaire raci...

Maybe simply being able to delete posts would help. I know forums are still garbage 20th century tech, but it shouldn't really be that hard.

Re: Mass Shootings

A 14 year old went on a rampage in a Raleigh, NC neighborhood last week. He first shot and then stabbed multiple times his 16 year old brother mortally wounding him. He then ran through the neighborhood wounded a lady in her driveway, fatally shot a woman and her dog on their front porch, shot and ...

When you do a fascism to get your fascist judges appointed, things do tend to work in your/Putin's favor when you need those judges.

Re: Donald Trump in Hot Water

The irony is that the crime of mishandling classified materials is about 1/50th as serious as inciting a riot and attempting to overthrow the government. But this is the thing we're focusing on? well, it's seemingly not so much that he mishandled classified information, as sold it to people who use...

Re: Donald Trump in Hot Water

Trump is conflicted right now. He's raising oodles of money that he does NOT have to use for a political campaign. That's money the rubes are shoving straight into his pocket. Once he becomes a candidate, he's going to have to play by different rules (not that he won't try to bend or break those ru...

What did they do or track that we can't do by using a search engine? How many employees, how much did the head of the agency make? search engines aren't databases. It's one employee of a contractor that maintains a database. It's basically pennies. The guy says he's maintaining in independently now...

Re: Mass Shootings

begging? it's intentional. The whole "gun sales go up after a shooting" thing. It's basically an advertisement. Republicans put out a "Biden gonna take them guns!" ad and people rush to the stores, the NRA hands them another bag of cash. rinse and repeat.

Re: OK! It's About Time. The Court Thread!

it only helps a little, but NY needs to fight back the way Florida did when ex-felons got the right to vote back. Make it so you have to fill out forms that don't exist and that you have to show up in person to get a gun license and basically don't have any place open that they can show up to.

Re: Mass Shootings

We know that it won't stop these events from happening but even if it only prevents three mass shootings, that's dozens of lives saved. Of course, we'll never know for sure if it's prevented three mass shootings, but maybe it will prevent many more than that. It _probably_ saves lives. Not mass sho...

we had worldwide rallies in 2020 and all that happened is the police budget went up. It's pretty clear that even the 80-90% have no immediate power. Sure, these things will change in 20 years when even the people in power are less in the pocket of the NRA (and in the pocket of something else, likely...
