And I wonder how much Steve Cohen cares about that.

Journalists shouldn't wonder, Bill Madden. They should find out.

Juan Soto is at Citi Field wearing a Mets cap, Mets jersey with his name and the number 22.

Now for baseball pants, spikes and a bat!
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

Tuned in, Soto sounding a little nervous ( understandable) , but seems genuinely happy , family is one of the key words I'm hearing for all parties

That's fucked up - wouldn't you think some of them would have checked in and told them they wanted him to stay ?

I saw an article from the U.K. (the Daily Mail) pointing out concerns about Soto having developed a potbelly since the World Series ended.

It may just be that he's wearing his street clothes under the uniform jersey.

Our first look there at 2025 jerseys getting the name-on-back font sizes restored.

Unsurprisingly but sadly, however, they still have the uniform plate elements done in decals instead of embroidery.

I believe it’s a Chevy Tahoe. I saw elsewhere it costs about $80k.

If you're going to have something from Switzerland, it might as well be Lindor chocolates.

Al Leiter, Ray Knight and the estate of Donn Clendenon oughta be getting residuals.
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

I thought of those guys too. Especially Knight and Clendenon. The Mets better win a lot of World Series during Soto's time here, because if his number 22 gets retired the Mets will never again be able to have a World Series MVP.

What are the odds this is a Chevy thing ? Like did Soto actually slap down his card and pay for it ? Does Baty pay taxes ,or is this a gift ? How do these things work ?

From the IRS website:
Who pays the gift tax?

The donor is generally responsible for paying the gift tax. Under special arrangements the donee may agree to pay the tax instead. Please visit with your tax professional if you are considering this type of arrangement.

What is considered a gift?

Any transfer to an individual, either directly or indirectly, where full consideration (measured in money or money's worth) is not received in return.
