(potential) Hurricane Helene

So there's already thought about moving Thursday's game up to an afternoon tilt depending on the path and timing of the storm currently forming south of Cuba.
The current projected 'cone' path (not to be confused with the 'Cone of Silence') for the storm basically has it covering the entire state of Georgia.
The decision to move or not in this closing week seems to rest more with MLB than with the home team. It was announced by MLB Monday night that Tuesday's game in Detroit, also one with playoff implications, is being moved to an afternoon game due to poor a weather forecast (not the same storm) saying that “The decision was made in an effort to identify the best opportunity to play the game.”
iow, with few teams having any off days left this would leave only Monday as a potential make-up date with all kinds of travel implications involved.
No word yet from Trump stating that if he were President this storm would never happen.

Does this sound familiar? As if something very similar happened the last time there was a late September series in Atlanta with an opportunity to clinch? Well, you’d be right:

As for 2024, the forecast seems particularly bad, and that game should certainly be moved up, especially since they set a precedent for doing so in Detroit today.

Hah! I even made the same lame 'cone of uncertainty / cone of silence' reference then too.

My wife's middle name is Helene.
I rather face an angry hurricane.

Neutral site options:
1. Milwaukee: Brewers are on the road in Pittsburgh. Mets head to Milwaukee next. Braves would likely object since they'd have to fly back to Atlanta to play KC.
2. Tampa: Nearby. Domed stadium. Rays are in Detroit.
3. Miami. Same. nearby. Domed stadium. Marlins are in Minnesota.
4. CitiField. Sure. It's supposed to rain, but there's a window between 9 a.m. and noon. I promise to root for the Braves so there's no home field advantage.

That might be the smartest option.
Not the favorite option necessarily, but the one with the best chance of getting in two uninterrupted games.

Not to worry. A crack forecaster says it's heading for Alabama instead.

Probably the worst for the Mets, as Manaea wouldn’t go short rest AND if he pitches Friday instead, he won’t be ready for Game 1 of the Wild Card round.

Arlington was also posited as a possible alternate site with the Rangers on the road.

Rain scheduled to start tomorrow morning in Atlanta and last until at least Friday.
For the first half of Wednesday it probably won't be steady but getting worse as the day goes on.
Thursday it's just going to plain rain all day.

That just means the winds have died down below a certain level (below 74 MPH for a Category 1).
But they're still gonna' get a shitload of rain.

The thing is, the rain hitting the Atlanta area today isn't even Helene rain. She's still hanging out near western Cuba.
This is just something coming through from west to east. Thursday and especially Friday is when Helene is likely to be over Georgia.
Braves have a home game every day through Sunday so this is going to throw a wrench into both series and both involve playoff teams (KCR).
