Who are the Reds?

As usual they have like 3 MVP candidates and shitty starting pitching, though we draw their best in Wade Miley on Tuesday.
Could be some guys will be blockbustered before the series is over so #Hugwatch will be on for Castellanos, Winkler, Naquin etc.
Metsll need to hit with them as I Cough and a bullpen array greets them.
Big little series here, guys.

At least they're not a tough team like the Pirates.

Looks like we're starting not-so-formal KTEs again.
Eleven years ago, I started writing 50 year anniversary KTEs for certain opponents.
I started with one for the 1960 World Series Champion Pirates. The second was for the 1961 NL Pennant winning Reds. I think the others were the 1962 San Francisco pennant winner and the 1964 World Series Champion Cardinals.
I'm not going to do a 60 year look-back, but the old ones weren't in the KTE archives when I looked. Were they ever kept?

Two MVP candidates, but amazingly, neither of them is Joey Votto. Secondbaseman Jonathan India is additionally a leading RotY candidate.
Thirdbaseman Eugenio Suarez is Mr. All-or Nothing this year, with 18 homers and 52 RBI despite hitting just .173.

Happy that these are 7 PM Eastern games, so I may actually get 7-8 innings in before I go to bed.

I think the third game is a businessman special. Proctor & Gamble productivity will be way down

The Reds thread came up just a few weeks ago.
btw, 35th anniversary of the Ray Knight Brawl Game is tomorrow. Perhaps Jesse Winkler and JD Davis will recreate the scene.
Michael Lorenzen, the Reds' relief pitcher who's also a power-hitting corner outfielder, reminds one of Orosco/McDowell from that night. Except Lorenzen is paying the price for his versatile jockularity. Just came back from a shoulder injury from pitching, went back onto IR this weekend on a hamstring (baserunning) injury.

Just yesterday I was reviewing footage of a Gooden/Pat Combs brawl from 1990. What a weird scene that was.
