Re: In Vaccine Thread 2021
I somehow choked down about 10 minutes of Jim's rant on instagram. He has a problem with other performers requiring proof of vax and unironically stated that being a celebrity doesn't make you any smarter than anyone else. :-/ Then he proceeded to talk about how Joe Rogan is some kind of fucking genius because he got covid, took 19 different medications at once and didn't die. PROOF THAT IVERMECTIN WORKS? YOU DECIDE.
great googly moogly!

Hope he enjoys performing in Idaho. Anything that minimizes the chances of anyone seeing Jim Breuer is a good thing.

Maybe Breuer should talk to the antivax woman whose 4 y/o daughter just died of Covid. And it seems she's now changed her mind on the subject.

Well, it's Tuesday, and that means it's time for another obituary for an anti-vax radio host! This guy actually went the extra mile, suing to get mask mandates lifted because Covid was no big deal compared to your FREEDUMBS. He's a special gem as you'll see below, and his death is probably a relief to many.
Bob Enyart, conservative firebrand and pastor, dies of COVID-19

Conservative firebrand Bob Enyart, the pastor of the Denver Bible Church and indelible talk show host, has died from COVID-19, his radio co-host announced Monday on Facebook.
“Bob Enyart was one of the smartest, and without question, the wisest person I’ve known,” Fred Williams, Enyart’s co-host on the Real Science Radio show, said in a post.
Enyart and his wife refused to get the vaccine due to abortion concerns, he said on his website. In October, Enyart successfully sued the state over mask mandates and capacity limits in churches, a rare legal victory against broad public health mandates instituted during the pandemic.
Pushing the limits never bothered Enyart. He once traveled to New Zealand for the sole purpose of being arrested with a “Clinton is a Rapist” banner, according to a 1999 Westword profile. On his old TV show, Bob Enyart Live, the host would “gleefully read obituaries of AIDS sufferers while cranking ‘Another One Bites the Dust’ by Queen,” Westword reported.
The show’s website says Enyart has aired more than 6,000 radio and TV shows across 80 cities from Honolulu to Orlando, Fla. He claims to be in the top 5% of all authors for book and video sales. Enyart also served as the spokesman for American Right to Life, which bills itself as the “abolition wing of the pro-life movement.”
He served as Denver Bible Church’s pastor since 2000, according to his biography. Before entering the life of a pastor and talk show host, Enyart designed software for Army helicopters and worked as a computer analyst for Microsoft, he says on his show’s website.
“Heaven’s gain has left an enormous hole here on earth,” Williams wrote. “Bob’s enduring legacy will live on with the treasure trove he leaves behind."

The FDA panel voted NOT to recommend a Pfizer booster shot to Americans age 16 and older 16-2.

OE: But in a later vote, approved the booster shot for people 65+.

They did this very half-assed, by saying the benefits of boosters didn't outweigh the risks for those under 65. But a certain segment of the population will say, "OMIGOD THERE ARE RISKS!! NICKI MINAJ WAS RIGHT!!!!!!"

Re: In Vaccine Thread 2021
This is the key. Schools aren't going to get back to normal until kids are vaccinated.
Probably a bridge too far to require vaccination, but that's what SHOULD happen.

Re: In Vaccine Thread 2021
timeline appears to be holding at 'submit this month, FDA approval hopefully in mid-late October'
If that holds, I'll have a 4 and 7 month year old and feels much akin to "warning track power" or something.
I think if full approval down to 5 gets done by say, May, a lot of states WILL require it in school for 2022-2023.

Got my booster Friday.
The arm is still a little swollen, and my doctor said it is because I already have antibodies in my system from the first round of shots (7-8 months ago). I had no adverse reaction to the first two Pfizer shots.
The Doctor said he hasn't received his booster yet because his hospital isn't giving them out. So, he'll have to go to CVS.

Is the Pfizer booster the same dosage as the first two? Was the second shot
the same dosage as the first?
I can't keep up with the news any better than they can all make up their minds.
I thought I saw an MSNBC scrolly bar thing this morning that said CDC Director
endorses (maybe a different word) the Pfizer booster shot. Last week they didn't....

Re: In Vaccine Thread 2021
it's the same dosage.
The studies are still out on the actual need for a booster, or when. Any disconnect is mostly on messaging and prioritization. vulnerable populations have been recommended to get a booster because they may be immuno compromised and give the rising risk levels lately, it's good to have your immune system fresh and primed for infection. If you're NOT immunocompromised, your antibodies are probably fine and active, if maybe slightly lower than peak, but data is suggesting this is certainly fine for avoiding bad outcomes. The ongoing vaccine trials are obviously studying the population of the first groups to get the vaccine (well in advance of most of us) so if they start seeing a real drop in efficacy there, the messaging will become a little more concrete and backed by science.

Re: In Vaccine Thread 2021
Thanks for the nutshell.
If I remember correctly I personally wouldn't be due for the Pfizer booster until
New Years Eve so they have plenty of time to sort things out. Not that I matter lol.
----------------
Kentucky Covid deaths up 53% last week. People still thumbing nose though.

Not to everyone's taste, but if you want to see rednecks (and yes, they're mostly rednecks) shitpost about how they'll never get that LIBRUL vaccine, and then get COVID and die, there's a Reddit sub for that called the Herman Cain Award. The comeuppance is very thick. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Not surprising, but this graph brings it home. Counties with the highest percentage of Trump voters have the highest level of COVID deaths since June 2021. The highest tenth has a death rate FIVE TIMES the lowest tenth.

Odds of any of the crazy 'quotes' making it to the real news tomorrow are probably
pretty slim. But still, from a forum prospective, it kinda makes me laugh-out-loud at
the notion of microscopic squid-like creatures are now possibly a thing.
