Letting Wheeler walk and suggesting he wasn't worth the $$ he sought is an underrated monumental screwup.
Re: 2023 NLWC Playoffs Thread
Wheeler with a win, Sewald with a save — heckuva start to these 2023 NL playoffs for those 2019 Mets!
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

Imagine where the team might be if Brodie Van Wegenen had never been hired.Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 9:52 pm Letting Wheeler walk and suggesting he wasn't worth the $$ he sought is an underrated monumental screwup.

I'm on work travel and all the TV's in the hotel restaurant/pub area had baseball on. I got really annoyed at fans at those games who get to cheer for their own team in a playoff game. Fuck all of them in their happy cheering asses I say

I blame Susan Collins

I have never insulted anyone. I simply describe them, accurately.

It was still the Jeff Era though, would have been tough for anyone.Gwreck wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 12:01 amImagine where the team might be if Brodie Van Wegenen had never been hired.Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 9:52 pm Letting Wheeler walk and suggesting he wasn't worth the $$ he sought is an underrated monumental screwup.

Do a “Shinny Happy People” cover on your next gig in “tribute” ;)

Fair, but they had room to take on $100M for Robinson Cano…imagine if they used that money for Wheeler instead.Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 9:26 amIt was still the Jeff Era though, would have been tough for anyone.Gwreck wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 12:01 amImagine where the team might be if Brodie Van Wegenen had never been hired.Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 9:52 pm Letting Wheeler walk and suggesting he wasn't worth the $$ he sought is an underrated monumental screwup.

The rotation would have been outstanding and more durable than it turned out

That's a tough one for a solo artist because of the overlapping voices in the chorus. But I do not have any REM in my repertoire and it's a band that gets requested from time to time. I'd be more inclined to play "What's the Frequency Kenneth" I thinkstevejrogers wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 9:44 amDo a “Shinny Happy People” cover on your next gig in “tribute” ;)

Clearly, the Marlins had trouble recovering from that devastating ruling giving them a loss to the Mets on Thursday last.
