We've come this far, to the end of April, and there's no WISf24? thread devoted to me. That's no accident, as these stupid threads went up in the order of how ZiPS projected our season was going to turn out, and ZiPS had me behind a bunch of day-laboring relievers, prospects who could well not make it onto the roster at all, DfA targets, already released dudes like Taylor Kohlwey.
Rylan Bannon, Ben Gamel, and Wyatt Young were all expected to outpace me, according to some secret, proprietary data crushing produced by some secret, proprietary people that somebody decided to call ZiPS.
Well, so far, ZiPS seems wrong. Like, hilariously so. I may be pretty damned redundant now that the Mets have J.D. Martinez, and my main role right now is keeping Matt Vientos off the roster, but I'm the guy leading the team in big moments, and I produced another one just tonight.
April doesn't automatically predict September. The world could look a lot different then. But it's sure relevant, so thank you to whoever delayed putting this thread up, giving all of you smart guys that much more information to consider as you tell me just what my season will look like five months from now.
Don't be scared you might be wrong. You certainly can't be any wronger than ZiPS.

I like him. Not convinced he’s good. But I feel like this is the type of player we should all root for.
