Who? Gamel? If Martinez was in the lineup today, as he normally would be, you probably send up Gamel in that spot for McNeil.
DJ Stewart wasn't available?

Both Stewart and Gamel were available. Problem is that neither of them are good hitters.

There goes my theory that Hauser may be better in relief when he starts an inning.

The quality of the OF depth could stand to be improved. I don't know how many reps Baty has gotten in left be he could surely be of some help. McNeil moving to left and such

Why would Baty help? He has not shown any ability to hit at the major league level and now you want him to play a new position on top of that? No thanks.

Hence my point. Gamel at least offers speed and defense. Stewart's only job is to hit right handed pitching. If he can't be trusted to do even that, DFA him.

Thought this too, they went 7-2 in their last 9 before the break. That's a pretty good clip.

I got the idea that Martinez wasn't expecting to be called on at the end, and they had to go into the clubhouse and chase him out, or he didn't had to get his spikes on or something.

Catching up on some games. Since I knew how this one was going to end, I didn't get excited by the success in the early going.
