I can't wat for the next presidential debate - someone who was a district attorney who prosecuted sex offenders against a sex offender.
It will be interesting to see how she goes after him.

I need to let CBS News know that I'm not going to challenge Vice President Harris either.

I'd like to challenge her to a game of Yahtzee or Backgammon.

My son's team had a game in Westchester this weekend. While his team was waiting for the field, I got to watch first-hand how suburban moms reacted to groups of Latino kids in their neighborhood.

My guess is that white men will predominately vote for Trump. Minorities will likely favor Harris. The white woman vote will determine this election.

I think some of these white moms have fully bought in to the MAGA bullshit. They either fully believe what Fox News tells them, or they were just inclined to racist views already. But most of these women probably know who Trump is, and get that that all the justifications are bullshit. Unfortunately for them, they have to make a choice between (a) what they believe is right, including their own rights, versus (b) keeping their communities predominately white. They are choosing (b).

I think the only way for Harris to get this vote is to distance herself from Biden's migrant problem and come out strong on immigration.

So how did the moms react?

If they're watching FOX News, they're not voting for Harris. They're lost voters, unreachable as far as the Dems are concerned. Same if they're racists. I struggled to watch the GOP convention and overall, saw very, very little of it live -- almost none of it. Given my own sensibilities and preferences, it was unwatchable. It's another universe in there. A Bizarro, alternate reality. Trying to watch that convention only made me want to change the channel right away to anything else. I didn't need to hear their ridiculous lies because they're not new to me. They've been pedaling the same bullshit over and over for years and years and years.

Saw a report this morning that said that 3 1/2 % of the GOP delegates were minorities(Black or Latino).

Part of my fear of Biden dropping out was that Kamala might not be up to the task. And it could only be Kamala because anything else would tear the party apart.

At least initially, anyone who might have run against her has endorsed her. It's been said that she'll have official commitments from a sufficient number of delegates to clinch the nomination by Wednesday. So that's a bullet dodged. I think a lot of this was stage-managed behind the scenes (I'm sure there'll be a book about it shortly).

Kamala 2020 was not a good campaign. But she's improved and had a master class in governing, domestic and foreign policy over the last 3 1/2 years. She needs to come out firing against Trump. Biden was somehow reluctant to engage on the fact that he's a goddamn convicted criminal. I'm hoping that Kamala hits him early and often.

She also needs to make Trump's Project 2025 a centerpiece oif the campaign. That got lost in all the noise recently; it's dangerous and everybody needs to know what's in it. Bullet points will do.

And Biden was squeamish about talking about abortion. Probably being an 81-year-old Catholic male had something to do with that. Kamala's been the point person on the Dobbs fallout for the past two years. This is how you get young people and suburban women and she needs to lean into the message that women's bodily autonomy is being taken away.

This is a 2020 commercial. But, boy does it resonate today.

I thought Joe was vigorous in his defense of abortion and women's rights and apoke about it often. Come out fighting yes , but also sell the dems vision for the next four years , can't all just be bashing the criminal.

Trump said in that June 27 debate that some states allow abortions even after the baby is born. The baby is on a table and they kill it. And Biden let that go by without comment. He didn't even say "malarkey." Harris will not be such a pushover.

Hey, I get it that there needs to be a focus on abortion.

But right now, white women are telling you the biggest issue for them.

There is no migrant problem. Biden and Republicans, and probably Kamala too are pretty aligned on migrants. Probably Israel too.

The millions of (potential) voters that oppose that alignment are what's going to decide the election.

This is interesting. Support for Mark Kelly -- in the top job.
Top Dems threatened to forcibly remove Biden from office unless he resigned, set him up to fail at Trump debate: Sources

Operatives at the very highest levels of the Democratic Party threatened Joe Biden with forcibly removing him from office unless he stepped down, sources told The Post.

The well-orchestrated “palace coup” to stop the faltering president seeking re-election has been in place for weeks, but stubborn Biden fought against it every step of the way, according to the sources.

Part of the “elaborate” strategy to remove Biden from the race – as he announced in a shock letter posted on X Sunday – was allowing him to debate Republican candidate Donald Trump last month on live TV in Atlanta.

During the car crash 90-minute debate, Biden appeared confused, slack-jawed and at one point he froze up, with his shocking performance turning the tide against him.

“That debate was a set-up to convince Democrats that he couldn’t run for president,” a source close to the Biden family told The Post Monday.

As calls for him to bow out mounted, Biden insisted he would continue, but party bigwigs threatened to invoke the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution.

The amendment allows for the vice president and members of the cabinet to declare he is unfit to serve and force him to step down, the source added.

The White House and representatives from the Democratic National Committee did not immediately respond to The Post’s requests for comment.

Although Biden immediately endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for president, the source said Democratic delegates will be strongly encouraged to instead back Arizona senator and former astronaut Mark Kelly for president at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August.

Some holdouts have still yet to endorse Harris as Biden’s successor, despite less than a month until the convention and only four months until election day. Most notable among them is former President Barack Obama.

“We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead,” Obama said Sunday.

Following the debate, first son Hunter Biden suddenly became more involved in his father’s day-to-day business and insisted upon attending every official and unofficial meeting, the source said.

“Hunter felt he [Joe Biden] was being set up and he was very concerned about his father,” the source said. “These people, these officials were not on Joe’s side.”

Biden’s own staff did not have any forewarning about the bombshell decision to pull out of the race, which was known since at least Tuesday, the source said.

Many were also shocked by the letter posted to Biden’s X account itself, as it was typed on his private letterhead rather than White House notepaper and signed electronically, the source said.

Democratic Party insiders have also known for at least two years how Biden was in decline, said the source.

“When I saw him a couple of years ago, it was frightening,” said the source. “He was just repeating slogans and had no idea who I was.”

This feels like another rumor for the sake of having news to write about, brought you by the "journalists" who collectively shilled for Biden about his health until they couldn't hide it anymore.

Harris has to be the candidate at this point. Too much of the dem establishment has come out for her already, it would be a clusterfuck to "replace" her now.

However, if Democrats had had a real primary without Biden and he had won it, Kelly would likely mop the floor with Trump

consider the source here. These are heavily pro-trump people, as you can tell by the unsourced assertions in the post. Really this is just a hit piece to try to make the Democrats look in disarray. Not that they aren't, but this ain't it.
