Roots rocker JD McPherson is out with his first non-Christmas music in 7 years. He's been touring with Robert Plant & Allison Krauss. His band broke up and the heavy 50s influence from the big stand up bass player isn't there anymore. New record has surf, new wave and glam styles on it.

By coinkydink, my #PowerPopFriday selection today was from the new JD album. Very, very Marc Bolan-y, and that's never a bad thing to be.

That was on the list of songs I was gonna post. Here's the one that sounds like Nick Gilder, who was like the glam to New Wave bridgebuilder.
